Harish Kumar, Satvika, Akhil Kaushik . Expert System Proceeds in PC Troubleshooting. National Workshop-Cum-Conference on Recent Trends in Mathematics and Computing 2011. RTMC, 6 (May 2012), 16-20.
In the past decade where computer has proved as a tremendous slave; it has expanded itself to every sphere to human life. Slowly and steadily computers have become human's companion and the man has also tried to teach its favorite son the technique to learn and think. This science is known as 'Artificial Intelligence' and the branch which actually tries to emulate as a human expert is known as 'Expert System'. When power equipment fails, maintenance personnel have traditionally have to investigate and repair the equipment by using information supplied by supervision and control systems, specified in manuals, or gained through personal experience. To enable maintenance engineer to respond more quickly and accurately, expert systems have been developed for PC troubleshooting. This paper discusses pros and cons of some expert systems already developed for PC maintenance and troubleshooting.
