Abstract

Highway monitoring & traffic management is the basic need for the metropolitan cities/NCR, which can be achieved through the background extraction and detection techniques. Background extraction is extracted series of frames and Detection techniques gives edge detection and back ground subtraction. These can be used for traffic control, accident location detection, speed verification, number plates recognition & searching for stolen vehicles etc. The above technique is proved practically by experimental data practically.
