Abstract

The impact of energy based heterogeneity is investigated through Source Initiated Reactive algorithmfor event driven applications to understandthe impact of heterogeneous network on energy ef?ciency and network lifetime. Based on the simulated experimental and numerical results, it is found that the energy ef?ciency performance is enhanced by 24% for correlated and 40% for uncorrelated event detection by interposing heterogeneity. Withthe aid of these observations, one can say that this novel approach can help us contribute in the energy-ef?ciency context, and future solutions can take advantage of the proposed algorithms and observations.
