Abstract

This paper presents the development of an intelligent and low-cost speed, temperature and vibration monitoring and fault diagnostic system. The plug-in NI DAQ card provides a low-cost solution for reliable data collection from independent accelerometers mounted on the front-end devices to be monitored. NI Lab VIEW, coupled with the data socket server, is responsible for the computation of the remote machines’ health condition and communication of this information collectively to a remote operator. The health condition of machine is induced via a fusion of the vibration signals. A specific setup using the proposed control configuration is presented in the paper.
