The sensor nodes are typically powered with batteries which limits its lifetime. The sensor nodes spend the most part of its power during the useful data transmission to the sink node. This paper presents a novel method using Q-XML for the data transmission which improves the lifetime of the sensor node. The Q-XML reduces the computation time of the sensor nodes which will increase the lifetime of the sensor nodes.
