Abstract

As the network grows to fulfill the demand of communication, the need for data transfer speed is also increasing. Not only the size of network but the data transfer speed (rate) is ever demanding. For the communication, the need for networking is required which serves as the backbone. Various protocols are used in building the computer network including routing protocols such as RIP, OSPF, BGP, EIGRP, etc. Apart from these some routed protocols like IPV4, IPv6, IPX are also used. These routing protocols have different working styles but the primary aim of these protocols is the same which is to calculate the best path towards the destination address. This study aims to discuss the various parameters that can influence the best path selection process for achieving better data transfer speed through the existing network using Open Shortest Path First (OSPF) as a routing protocol.
