Abstract

Planning of future not only needs not only to make a critical study of the past, but also to analyze the general psyche of the people responsible for formulating development policies, to understand the complexities of the development process and to identify the factors responsible for achievements and failures. The main objective of this paper is to examine the roots of scientific and technical education in India. I have tried to include all the minute details of the various strategies followed in the past which leads to the birth of scientific and technical education in India.
